Country Gate Players To Present Farce, Lend Me A Tenor

Watch confusion and hilarity unfold when the
Country Gate Players presents the Broadway comedy and two-time Tony Award
winner "Lend Me A Tenor", May 15, 22, and 29, at 8:00 p.m., as well as, May 30, at 2:00 p.m.
The show will be presented at the
Country Gate Playhouse, 114 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, New Jersey.
Called "uproarious" and "hysterical" by USA Today (March, 1989),
playwright Ken Ludwig's farce details comic mishaps that occur after a
struggling Cleveland opera company hires a world-famous tenor
(portrayed by John Trembler of Forks Township)
to play "Othello."
"Good farce is one of the most difficult challenges actors encounter,"
said director Gina Scurato, of Harmony Township. "It demands energy,
exquisite timing, vocal variety and control."
Among the other cast members, Vinny Foti, of Stewartsville plays "Max.",
the opera house assistant manager. Foti is a familiar face to area audiences,
having most recently appeared as the "gangster" in Kiss Me Kate. Max's love interest
is the quirky, eccentric "Maggie," played by Deb Jacoby, of Easton.
Jacoby has previously performed featured roles in Annie and The Sound of Music. Portraying "Saunders," the manager
of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is John Musarra, of Belvidere. Musarra is a community theatre
veteran with over thirty shows to his credit. Other cast members include Merry LaRue, of
Changewater, Roy Bjellquist, of Lopatcong, Brenda Kull, of Oxford, and Denise Hickson, Of High Bridge.
